As usual, I was in charge of taking care of our two little daughters last weekend while my wife had to study for her courses at the university. I took along a Canon IVsb with two lenses; Canon 85mm/1.9 and Canon 35mm/1.8. I had the Fujicolor 200 film scanned directly at development time. I found out that my Walz lens hood results in occasional vignetting with the 35mm lens. Maybe it was the aperture chosen.

[edited] I may have been mistaken about having photos taken with the 85mm lens in this roll.

Here are more photos from the roll. Some photos were taken on Pensacola Beach. You can witness the "attack" of Lina on Dana with the plastic shovel. I had to bring back order to the situation! The church scenes are taken in the historical downtown area of Pensacola. It is the Old Christ Church, which is the oldest remaining church in town.

Very nice - I was afraid you meant you were quitting photography with that title! English is a funny language, one word can mean two different things.

Best Regards,

I thought the same thing! 😀 Sometimes one word can mean more than two different things. There's also a somewhat morbid ring to the title, too! I'm glad neither is true!

I liked your reply Raid. I feel the same way.

🙂

Nice, Raid. Did you notice the shutter pin hole bright spots in the top right hand corner of some of the vertical shots? (I really hate to be the bearer of bad news.)

I noticed that too. I also thought he was quitting.

Apropos of ambiguity in the English language, there is also the problem of ambiguity in the sound of English words. For example, site, sight, cite. All pronounced exactly the same, all with totally different meanings. Only when pronounced within the context of a sentence do the various meanings become clear. (sorry about the digression)

Frank: Does this mean that there is a hole in the shutter curtain? If so, someome here mentioned what type of liquid to use to patch up the curtain.

Ted: I only later on realized that the title could be misunderstood, but then it was too late to change the title. At leats I don't know how to change it now.

love the pics, raid --- I've found that rangefinders are great for many children shots --- you've got some cooperative models as well.... lucky you, you have a beach nearby

Yes, my "models" are very cooperative and the beaches are nearby. I can't complain here. Glad you like the pics. Rangefinders are not intimidating as SLR cameras, and this comes in handy with children ... and at the beaches.

I had success with using "RTV black" on the shutter curtain of my old Pentax. Readily available at any auto parts store.

Bob

Thanks for the tip, Bob. I will get me some.

Raid, how old are the girls? Mine's 2 1/2 - the other day, we were at the local museum and she was playing with another girl in the atrium who was an inch or two taller (Emma stands 3'4") and I asked the other girl how old she was, the answer was "6" --- The 6 year old is short for her age and Emma is tall for hers (She's about the size of many 4 year olds)

I miss living near the beach --- my decadent self spent too much time photographing the beautiful decadent women --- but now, I'm married and the photography of beautiful models other than my daughter is off-limits by my wife

🙁

Dana is 3 years old and Lina is 18 months old. Both are tall for their ages, especially Dana. No models for mee except what you see posted!

I need to locate the pinhole in the shutter curtaain of the Canon IVsb. The camera is a bottom loader so I cannot open the back of the camera. I removed the lens and took a light pointed at the shutter curtain. I stared at the curtain over and over while cocking the shutter and firing it to see the curtain travel. Is the a way to figure out the exact location of the pin hole? Help.

Raid, drive a short hop over to Ft. Walton Beach ----- some great stuff to photograph --- I've spent many of my youthful summers there --- Also had my first Orange Julius at the mall there ---- I miss the smell of panama jack, the pure white sand, etc...

It might be worth your while to go deep sea fishing with some friends and carry your camera gear --- there's some great architecture in that area as well...

Ft. Walton Beach is not much better than Pensacola Beach. Traffic has become terrible from Pensacola to Destin and Panama City, passing through Ft. Walton Beach.
