A 35mm Summaron, a 90mm Elmar, and a 135mm Hektar complete my collection of Leica glass.

I also have some Canon (85f2, 100f3.5), FSU (I-10, J8, J3, J12) and CV lenses (25, 35f2.5, 50f2.5)

Frank: I have misplaced my Summar (or it was stolen), and if I get the 2.8 Elmar, we will have the same lenses.

if you have all the flavours of the 50mm just for the sake of collecting, well a newb can understand a collection mania easily enough... but surely not, is it simply a case of having the right 50 for the desired effect?

So far I have picked up that the 'Lux is the fastest 'series' and colours are velvia or extra saturated or something...
Could I have a link to a page that plainly lists the 'series attributes'? I mean the 'crons may be all alike in that the 'cron series all have heavy contrast or some other function of their design. What are the series attribs?
