Roland, sorry I found this so late. But anyway... I love the first picture of the bridge. Its such a great textbook example of how tone works to create depth. Beautiful image!

Needed a print for my office wall. This one from this morning, 15x20:

The 1st shot above was done with a 300$ lens, the 75/2.5 Heliar, at f5.6 or so. Quite an amazing performer, IMO. To show how the large print will look like a 100% crop:

And the 50/2.5 (US 330 two weeks ago on ebay) is almost just as good (I will try another LTM adapter in the future). Here is a crop from the second picture:

So, the morale for me is that the latest Leica doesn't really need the latest Leica lenses to make good use of its sensor.

Last, a comment on the M's 75mm frame-lines: they are perfect. Feel much better than on my film Leicas (M4P and M6). The 240 is a perfect 35/75 machine.

Yes! This is one of the nice surprises for me. M240 75mm frame lines are much easier for me to compose versus my film M and the M9. Also they are brighter in the low club lighting I shoot in frequently.

Learning how to use CornerFix. Not perfect yet, next time I will set a different lens profile when shooting.

Anyways, this is the 28mm Color Skopar, my only lens that appears to require corner color correction ...

The RAW file (need to clean the sensor soon ...)

This is the JPG from the camera (in-camera digital yellow filter), straightened, cropped, some dust removed and level'ed to the left a little:

After cornerfix and dust removal. Contrast and colors left alone:

As Calibration Source I took a photo of a white LCD screen. Maybe this can be improved ?

The M's first business trip

The M's first business trip

One week in Asia, half in Beijing, half in Taipei. The way the scheduling works is: you reserve a week, buy tickets, and then the schedule is packed with meetings and dinners. The only free time is some gaps on the week-ends and in the evenings, usually. I have to admit I was hesitant to take the M traveling. But it's what it's made for, right ? So here we are, adding M + 28 Ultron and 75 Summilux to my backpack everywhere I go.

Last Thu and Fri, dinners with the team in Beijing. Being a German, I was taken to "Paulaner" Beer-Garden, in case you wonder about the Dirndls.
