My M8 keeps cutting off feet

Hmm I think it's the fault of the "cropped" sensor of the M8. I think it's time to upgrade to an M9. With the larger sensor area you should be able to get the feet and head in the picture 😀

One possibility is that the frame is stuck at short distance with parallax correction.

It does sound as if the auto parallax correction is not working. That was my first thought.

Nope. The finder frames are sized for the M8 sensor. And they are undersized, which normally results in getting more in the picture than we bargained for, not less.
