Technically, the next suburb over from mine. (Mine is the "poor cousin neighbourhood" compared to this 🤣 Still nice enough - just nowhere near this nice.) But I still regard the depicted suburb as my neighbourhood too, as it's literally my daily stomping ground and a mere few hundred yards away from my home. Anyone know a good bank to rob? 🤣🤣
Also reaching outside of my neighborhood. This is on one of the small islands right off the coast of the Columbia not too far from me. This house is on Swenson Island right next to, you guessed it, Swenson, OR. The island is not much settled and has other homes like this one as well as those in good shape and occupied. It is rural Oregon.
These two are actually in my town, Astoria, in the Alderbrook section. It is part of the town but pretty much off on its own. It places few demands on the city and the city places few demands on it. It is another rambling, uneven, interesting neighborhood. This first home is a shotgun house built for mill workers who worked in what was a local mill. I almost bought this home to rehab and the one to the right. One to live in, one to rent. It got complicated. The second is what was, as it is signed, a local market from when we had a naval base and whorehouses here in town.
