I decided last week to jump head first back into film.

I sold a Canon 300 2.8 and financed a used Leica M6 TTL (.72) from Keh and a 50 Summicron from RFF user Peter Leyenaar. The M6 arrived yesterday and FedEx just dropped off the lens. I still have a lot left over from the sale, which is nice.

Interestingly, KEH rated the M6 as EX but one cannot even tell it has been used; it still has a strip of plastic attached to the bottom of the baseplate. The lens is flawless.

I'm so excited to start shooting some film again. I wandered over to Woodward Camera (Woodward Ave in Birmingham, MI) and picked up a bunch of XP2. I was going to get some Sensia but forgot to ask if they had it. I actually had the film a full week before the camera.

I'll still keep my Canon digi-gear but there is something to be said about loading up a camera with actual film and knowing that you are creating something more tangible than a bunch of neatly arranged 1's and 0's when you press the shutter release.

That being said, now I need to by a new film scanner!

Hey Mike,

mine is a similar story - I jumped back in May right before my baby girl was born. Couldn't stand the thought of not having some film negs lying around with her image etched. Same combo as you, plus a C220 TLR.

good luck being patient waiting for the lens.

Congratulations and happy shooting Mike!

You might want to wander over to the Ilford site; they have an interesting PDF on XP2. I only shoot B&W, and it's the film I've settled on as well.
