Here's a new development which I discovered AFTER I had bought the R-D1 and took it home.
I went to recharge the battery, which had died since I bought it. Alas, there was a charger and a couple extra batteries, BUT NO POWER CORD to attach the charger to a power outlet.
So I am stuck, unable to recharge the battery
I called the shop, which is a highly reputable shop, to tell them. They did say that I could return it.
What gets me is that the shop took it in on consignment and tried to sell it without the power cord.
So what's a person to do?
I've been analyzing my options, which include asking the shop to provide a cord for me. It would be nice to be able to use the camera I just bought
I also could return it but first I'd like to give the shop the option of providing a power cord.
Arggh!

Not sure what kind of brink the RD-1 uses, but most I've come across use a generic printer cord, like this one:

you should be able to buy one locally, at a home depot sort of place.

eBay, eBay, eBay. It would be a shame to let this ruin your purchase. But still a bummer.

It is possible to get universal power rechargers as another option. A few years ago I bought a new camera from a local store. The camera had been a display model and for some reason the entire charger pack was missing. They loaned me a universal charger until they could order in the correct one for me from the distributor. I could have kept the universal one but prefered to have the real deal. Its an option to raise with you store.

I'll look, but I think I have a few of those cords. I'll send you one if I have one.
I'll check and get back to you in about an hour.

Yep, I have one. PM me with your mailing address and I'll send it.
If you are in a hurry and can find one locally the cord is a 7amp 125 volt cord.
If you have a radio shack nearby, they will probably have it as it is pretty standard.

I don't remember which cord is used by the R-D1 charger but I would suspect either this is correct or these guys will have one that is.

The cord in the link does not look like it will work with my charger.

You can get a cord, in the US, at a Radio Shack for the rd1 charger. Mine came from the UK, and that's what I had to do.

The plug on the appliance side is a pretty standard one as mentioned. I had a few lying around the house as well.
