I've been quite busy during this roll of color neg, and therefore most of it are "everyday-life shots". The funny thing is that, I didn't realize that I hadn't been going out much, until I saw the photos.

My dog is always angry. She loves me when I pat her on the head, but when I move my hands away, she got angry again.

I too have a dog (it came with the girlfriend) - she's also just a little on the moody side 😀

When I had a Noct, I used a more easily found 62mm ND filter and a 60-62 step up ring. I don't remember if that arrangement blocks the built-in hood though (it does on the 75 lux).
I've taken to keeping 3-stop ND filters on my lenses pretty much all the time. For my current trip I bought extras so I wouldn't have to swap filters when changing lenses...

i now know why i don't have a Noctilux -- no dog!
i had to settle for my boyfriend's toes instead with my Noct-wannabe Zeiss C-Sonnar. strangely enough, it ended up in Explore on flickr. LOL!
i'd rather have a Nocti and a dog 😛

yes, LOL! it really makes me laugh! toes at f/1.5 (i was practicing shooting wide open because mine is optimised for 2.8) at ISO 1600 -- pure grain and charcoal 😀 a total lark and it gets on Explore...
i'd still rather have the Nocti 😀

@cam - Congrats! Now you can tell people, "it's not the lens that matters; it's the TOE BEFORE THE LENS!!!!!!" Hahaha.

More pics from the Pro400H roll (my 2nd Noctilux roll)
I love old stuffs. Gives me the "time capsule" feeling.
And it feels even better with a soft lens.
It really works.
And it's big. The long one should be around 50~60 cm long.

After the color roll, I went back to B/W again. This time still the 400TX.
It's strange that, during the two B/W rolls, I went to more places than with the color roll. Fate? Coincidence? Can't tell yet, but it's making me loving B/W more and more.
I only got time to post the first shot of the roll. This plant is quite interesting, because it's got a more "misty look" than the others on the balcony.
I'll organized the rest of the roll and post the ASAP.

Just saw this over at the Noctilux 0.95 discussion... it appears someone doesn't like our dogs deepwhite 🙁

Hahaha, my dog never listened to me. I can't even ask her to sit down....
And, it's users like you and I know, that those pet shots are not "test shots". They are "family shots" that just happen to be taken by a Noctilux. I would've taken those shots with my Nokia N95 if the Noctilux + Hexar RF were not around.
It's the dog that matters, not the lens!!!!!! 🙂

"You don't buy an expensive lens, and shoot with it some ordinary scenes."
Why not? I asked myself one day.
And then I was freed.
I say we use the Noctilux to shoot almost everything that we would've shot with any other lens. What matters is that, when we come across a scene that can only be taken by a Noctilux, it's worth it.
Of course that applies to any lens in the world. So what's the point? The point is, I prefer a Noctilux over most other lenses in these special moment, and therefore I bought one and use it.

it pays of if you use very expensive SINGLE lens every day! Every day for 10 years and it can be cheap from user's POV.
Some guys who buys 10 lenses for 20 grands are most likely collectors or just to be pretending to be a photographer. And for 20 grands, it is hard to see as paying of expenses when you put to the use of camera and out coming results because 10 lenses are too many and most lenses are used of 5% of shooting time. Im not telling how people should spend money on things, however.
my point is that one lens-body combo is never too expensive. Pick up your favorite FL and shoot every day.

i have yo admit to laughing when i read the post about the dog -- so true, and not just here. i mean, it's rife on flickr -- lens tests only. but trust me, i look at every one if i'm interested in the lens -- and it's not just the Nocti that's used this way...
a dog or cat (there's a ;pt off those too) is ever changing. brilliant subjects, IMO, especially as you can practice on something that moves. most of my test (focusing/DOF) shots are kitchen utensils and the like, b-o-r-i-n-g! thus, i went for the toe as my only moving target... the weather's turning, though, and socks just don't have the same emotional impact 😛
loved your description, Gabor, of the difference if i'd been shooting with the Noctilux 😀 why don't you put up one of the horse pics for all the nay-sayers out there. it shows what an awesome everyday lens this could be.

I own a few other lenses, like the Cron IV, Nokton 35/1.2, Super-Angulon 21/3.4, Elmarit M 90/2.8, etc.. Yet since the Noctilux came into the scene, most of the time it's been a "one lens one cam" journey for me.
(The last time I was in a 1-lens-1-cam phase was when I got the Nokton 35/1.2.)
I'm not selling all the other lenses, but I'm really glad to find that the Noctilux is capable of handling most of the situations. That already justified the cost, for me.
And I AM shooting more and more! Amazing.
Money can't buy happiness. But it CAN buy things that make me happier.

I'm working all day, and do a few film scanning and web browsing during the break.
Here are two more shots from my 3rd Noctilux roll (the 2nd 400TX roll).
It's ironic to see a "24H" sign, off.
In the background of an old street and old building scene, stands the famous Taipei 101 building, which was still the tallest office building in the world a couple of months ago.
What came into mind when I saw this was, in our lives, the most gorgeous is often the most far away.
------
It bothers me to find that, I love the photos more that were taken when I was along and sad.
Can't I just be a happy and good photographer?!

I very much like the atmosphere in this one, would like to see it wet-printed.
From my own experience, being alone and sad forces to reflect more about the own situation, the surrounding world and opens the eyes (and heart ... ?) to discover new things ..

oooooooh! i especially like the legs!
that's the thing that many people don't get. they obsess about f/1 on this lens, and i happen to love it's look stopped down as well. there is just something about it's draw that really appeals to me! horses for courses, i suppose 😀
