I was on my hands and knees in a huge puddle of fishwater to take that photo. We'd been kicked out of the fresh tuna auction at Tsukiji three times by then and the 'gomen-nassai we bakka gaijin' schtick was rapidly losing its effectiveness...
The opening was about a foot wide and I smelled like fish for about a week afterwards 😀

I really like a lot of the shots in this thread. Keep it up!
I wish I could justify a noctilux, especially the new one. However, the thought of spending 5k on a lens... I think I'd end up with the Lux ASPH and a CV 35/1.2 instead and pocket the extra $2k.
Its a real shame I didn't get into M's about 5 years ago when the prices were a little bit more manageable.

@Fred: If it were my friends throwing Soja sauce at me I would be fine... It is the camera operator (me), who is dropping it at all the time why having the camera around the neck ... 😉
But at least I can confirm, that (I have an Leica UV filter in front of my lens) a) the Noct tends to flare a lot more and b) vignetting gets worse by at least one stop (no kiddin here) with that Leica filter. So far I use a micro fiber cloth for cleaning my lenses and have removed the UV filter from my 35mm Summilux. The quality of the images increased visibly.

I learned something from this shot. B/W needs different logic. In the real world there was some beautiful lighting spot around the lower right corner; yet in this shot they are just not recognized at all....

That first one (kid in the hole) is fantastic deepwhite- that OOF foreground can be hard to pull off but this one is lovely. A little burn to the OOF element lower left is all I'd consider here. I'd have that on my wall.

This week I'm taking "1 lens + 2 cams" out: Noctilux + Hexar RF (Velvia 100) & R-D1s. Since the progress of the Velvia roll has been quite slow, I think what's coming should be the R-D1s shots.
So far the Noctilux works better with film than with the R-D1s. Tommy Oshima and Moaan on flickr both have great shots from their R-D1 + Noctilux, but I'm trying to find a new way to get good images, that are not just dreamy, from this combination.

Anyway... I just got back from a quick break in St. Tropez ...
I ended up shooting mostly with my TX-2 (XPanII for those not in Asia) - if you're interested, you can see them in my Flickr at the bottom of the post... but I still made sure to pack my trusty MP and Noctilux for after nightfall...
Was very impressed with Fuji Pro400H pushed - rated it a 800, and absolutely overjoyed with the results:
My local shop in Israel was out of Neopan 1600 so I resorted to Ilford Delta 3200... not going to be doing that again in a hurry...
There's grain, and there's golf-balls...
And my personal favourite (the things you see in St. Tropez never cease to amaze) 😀:
