Finally got my Rolleiflex 3.5 F yesterday.
Apparently CLA'd at some point by Mr. Otto Baumgartnerof Rollei-Reparatur-Service in Zurich.
It was REALLY well packaged, heavy cardboard shipping box, stuffed with proper padding, and then a custom made extremely solid wooden box with steel corners and latches. I kept the box! Well worth the AU$300 for shipping Priority International FedEx, which took less than a week from Zurich to Perth, Australia and weighed in a 7kg.
The camera looks more or less new. Only real sign of use is a bit of surfacing scuffing and black paint off the lens filter holders.
The case looks new...
except for a bit of cracking at the narrow bits where it bends back to let the camera in and out. I probably should avoid using the case, as the inside cracking in two spots looks like it may eventually give way.
The Rolleinar 3 block II looks new...
Rollei R1 filter...
and the lens hood...
All controls are extremely smooth and the shutter is silky, fast and gives a very satisfying, efficiently quiet sound.
This camera is a real gem. I am a bit hesitant to take it out, as in this condition it's a collector's item and worth a LOT more than I paid (CHF320...about AU $600).
Also included is a brand new looking Rollei shutter release marked "Made in Germany" and "Zeiss Ikon" on top of the release.
The meter also looks to be working properly changing both indicators as the shutter speed and aerture are adjusted. But I haven't tested it with a light meter.
The viewfinder screen look bright and easy to focus, much more than I expected. I am sure I can live with this without a replacement screen!
Question: With the Rollie R1 filter, is this just a UV filter? Would it be suitable to have it on to taking lens permanently?
Anyway, some more very quick photos taken on my iPhone....
