well, thanks for all the ideas.
I have no clue about the "browser war" nor do I have about flash and all the strange terms and letter combinations used here. yeah.. a real ignorant.
One thing seems clearer now: If I need to master that stuff, I give up.
The Weebly stuff allows me to reach 90% of what I want with 10% effort compared to a regular site. For me it's enough and nothing justifies spending ten times the time and money over what is, at the end of the day, an amateur site.
I simply don't have that time right now, because of my other hobby, the one that is paying for the films and the bread 😉.

I take very seriously all the remarks about the site structure, the gallery vs sideshow, the lack of text and captions, etc. and will work at this as soon as I can...

I don't think the fact that its a weebly site matters for your purposes. Screen height is a bit of a problem for a lot of people when you have to scroll to see all of an image.
Cos all the images are hotlinked from flickr you will get no indexing in google images from them but I think you knew that. And yes some text would be nice and help with google text indexing at least.

One final word of caution on beleiving flash is equal to non flash sites as far as indexing is concerned. Image wise it can be if written the correct way. Embeded text wise it can be. But a big limitation is hit if you only use one html page to embed your whole flash site. You only get one title tag to play with for your whole site! (unless google is doing something clever)😉
