Ok, these are flat out some of the nicest images I've had the pleasure of looking at. I'll even admit up front that I've met the gentleman who made most of them. Will also admit to being a noob here on RFF with a low post count.

But damn near 200 views and one reply?!?! Come on folks, y'all can do better than that. Post some images that are equally as good, I double-dog dare you.

Well I guess I'm posting the wrong kind of images that everyone likes . I'M here to please how are these.

Here are some that took a little more thought . It's all in getting the comp and lighting just right, and then the cooperation of the static subject matter.:D

All great stuff, Tom. And congrats to your daughter on her win, though it's a few years late. I see where she gets it from. The color in the eyes of the mountain lion are beautiful. The way the deer/elk (?) stands out from the background gives it a 3D effect. And the way the leopard disappears into the dark is fantastic. The macros and close-ups have that quality look one likes to see. You've been practicing!

(Give me a break, Ken. I can't read all the forums everyday:D)

Those are very nice wildlife images Tom ... though as I'm sure you're well aware this forum is locked into a certain type of imagery.

I suggest you re-do them in grainy black and white and be sure to have some legs or parking lot signs in the background ... preferably casting long shadows! :D

There's your answer.

:D Well, I'd like to see some snake shots taken with RF and 28mm lens at minimal focus distance, then I'll be impressed :p

But seriously, great shots there! It was a pleasure to look at them and ah, your daughter's shots are better than yours (but I am sure you'll take is as a compliment).
Congratulation to your little princess and you and thanks for posting!

Regards,

Boris

Thanks Boris , I haven't shared to much about myself or family so this is part of that . I have always taken pictures, but for me my actual photography and my art form didn't start till I got my first digital back in 99. I have some 200 film cameras and have been shooting mostly film for the past two years , (still learning ) although I enjoy most all of it , I'm still not much into street stuff (as far as shooting it ) I enjoy seeing what others can do. I'm still a wildlife guy. Here is a shot I entered in the zoo contest and only got honorable mention Taken with the D200 and Nikkor AIS 50-300 ED ( African Pygmy Falcon ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pygmy_Falcon
