Keith - the sound of the Pentax 67 shutter does that to many creatures, some of them bipeds. Your birds are gorgeous -- I'm dying to know what camera/lens/film? If they're digital conversions to b/w all the more congrats because they really look like film, like Acros or HP5 or Tri-X. Really satisfying to look at.

The birds were shot with an OM-2 and Zuiko 300mm ... the film was Rollei Retro 100.

I wish I still had that lens!

I take it those are Kookaburras?

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Merry, merry king of the bush is he.

I've never seen the second one

Tom ... the second photo is a female Satin Bower Bird. The male is really striking and has a stunning blue black plumage that shines like chrome in certain light!

Another Kookaburra shot ... you really have to watch your breakfast when these things are around if your eating it on the deck. They'd steal the food from your mouth if you gave them the chance! 😛

They could easily be mistaken for kingfisher , but are probably a little larger. They have a little thievery in them I take it.

Thay are actually a kingfisher Tom and their thievery is well known in the area I live in. The mask is very appropriate!

I've had one one crash tackle me in an attempt to get the bacon of my plate ... they really have no morals! 😛

Thanks for coming out to play Keith. It's 10.41 PM here and it's been a long day so I'll be leaving you shortly . My eyes are shutting on me .

Cheers Tom and goodnight ... it's been a pleasure to be able to support your fine thread. 🙂

See I told you:bang: , I guess the kingfishers I see normally have a little longer bill or beak. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday afternoon .
