I have the X-E1 and 18-55 and either my zoom doesn't squeak, or the frequency exactly matches my tinnitus, and I can't notice it. So far, I'm really enjoying this camera and lens.

My Ixus V2 used to sound like a coffee grinder when focusing. Probably from all the sand that got stuck in it at various places in Europe that I visited with it.
That camera's dead now though 🙁

the firmware update is on the fuji site and it works...my zoom is now both silky smooth and really QUIET!!
