Glad to see Time running more long-form photo essays. Last month, they ran the latest edition of Matt Black's "Geography of Poverty" project.

thanks to Bill for alerting us to this. Seems like one of the best Time Magazine issues ever. Admire the magazine for the approach of one photographer and devoting an entire issue to the topic.
New respect for Time Magazine. And of course, kudos to JAMES NACHTWEY

By moving to a mostly electronic world many can avoid having stories like this on their side table for a month. Most of us see what we want to see and avoid the rest. It's only through work like this that we what is happening in the world and really take it in. News on 24 hours a day, soundbites, 10 second videos, then we look for kittens.
After reading the stories on the front page of the Daily News every day on the train ride in I used to turn to comics. But then I went back went through the paper, except for the sports. I understand the feeling of being overwhelmed, but part of me thinks we are able to escape too much too easily.
As always, thanks Mr. P, you ROCK!!!

It's notable that he has moved from war/conflict to an issue at home. Not for the faint of heart, but important journalism. Thanks for this link!
