Not a theme I have seen recently, but racing events often present some very interesting photos.

I have two to start, from last nights Daytona International Speedway race.

They do indeed present interesting photos ops. NASCAR however is not racing. I don't know WHAT it is. Some weird, utterly bizarre mix of the WWE, NRA, and the GOP. We lived 4 years in Daytona Beach and finally escaped to St Petersburg, Fl. Here we have Indycar :] Life is good. You couldn't pay me to watch a NASCAR "race".

Really, I like both, at least a bit. They both fulfill the requirement of people getting into cars and going fast, and sometimes passing each other.
I think NASCAR in Daytona suffers from being the pack-racing restricter plate that has gotten too popular (probably for the spectacle of the wrecks). Go to a track like Texas or Kansas and the sport more resembles racing (it even more resembles Indy). It presents a different style of car design and racing style than you see with open wheel or classic cars. Several drivers have moved between NASCAR and Indy (not always with ease).
