I got a good deal on a II, but it didn't come w/ a take up spool. I know you can buy a complete Fed camera w/ a spool for about the same price, but I don't want to wait a month for it to arrive. Are there any spool sources in the US? And will the Fed and Zorki spools fit the Leica anyway?

The only place that comes to my mind is possibly Fedka.

Zorki 1 spools should fit. I recently tried one in my IIIc and it fit. They are occasionally found on e bay. There was a late model spool that had a spring loaded knob that was easier to use. I think it is a svoop/14021. Also Canon rangefinder spools fit and have a nice spring loaded knob that makes removal easier. I've got one in my IIIc now. Good Luck. Joe

Joe,
Thanks for the tips on the Zorki 1 and Canons. I'll see if I can find one in CONUS at a reasonable price.

That svoop/14021 spool you mentioned is for sale at KEH, but it's $100! Haven't found anyone w/ a spool locally, and all the eBay sellers are selling the later spools for the Zorki 4, which I gather won't work on my II. I give up. Guess I'd better sell the camera as is.
