Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some advice. I just received a Mamiya 6 50mm lens from Adorama. The glass and barrel are really in very nice condition, with a couple very minor marks on the front element. No rear cap, no hood.
I thought the condition is better than I had hoped for, but after attempting to fit a new B+W UV filter, I have found that the threads of the lens must have some issue (I notice a slightly bent section with metal showing through the finish). I can fit the filter about halfway onto the lens, but even that is an effort.
I would really like to shoot with this lens, but I don't want to keep it if it is irreparable. What would you recommend? It was $700 and rated 'E.' And I am interested in shooting with colored filters for black and white photography. Can I find a better deal elsewhere (for a lens without issue)?

upon further inspection, the actual barrel edge is bent slightly so that it doesn't make a perfect circle. it must have been dropped on its edge at some point. still the question stands, though i feel that this may be unable to be repaired.
