I happen to have my 28 Biogon right at hand; focus throw is 90 degrees.
Can't speak to the Hexanon, but the Biogon is quite sharp at all apertures, into the corners as well. Very slight vignetting wide open, which essentially goes away by f/4. Mine is nine years old and has seen lots of use (no abuse) and shows no sign of wobble. None of my other ZM lenses do either.
Personally, I like the third of a stop clicks, and the unique Zeiss focusing tab suits me perfectly. Those matters are subjective, of course!

I just saw your post re: use on a CLE. Be aware that any 28mm other than the Rokkor will bring up the 40mm framelines along with the 28. If you were to purchase a 28mm LTM lens (say, a Kobalux), you could use the 35/135 LTM to M adapter and just get the 28mm lines. This is a weird quirk of the CLE.
Of course, having both framelines present is not a big deal; it's pretty much standard with Leicas. It's just really nice to have that big, uncluttered 28mm view with the CLE.

I should probably mention I'm using this 28mm on a Minolta CLE. I realize the Rokkor is probably going to be a better fit, but the white spot problem doesn't seem great...

Too bad the VC color-skopar 28mm 3.5 isn't on your list. The build quality is superb....& it's tiny. A perfect match for the CL/CLE.... I know the prices have gone up but it's a killer lens.

I'd be careful of the CV 28/3.5. They're old enough that many are developing haze, and it's in the lens cement between elements, so essentially not repairable. Both my LTM and S mount versions succumbed to this problem, and were deemed not fixable by Skyllaney (experts on this sort of thing).
Of course, there are many of these CV 28/3.5 lenses out there that are just fine, but purchase with care if you are considering one!

I would go with the hexar out of those two lenses, I have only owned the 50mm Konica lens as my 28 is a Elmarit. Either one will give great results I just think the Konica is better built.

Both copies i had were haze-free & stunningly sharp. AFAIK the haze problem seems to be a specific rather than general affliction. I know it was discussed in depth with the Ultron 35mm 1.7 on the forum

Steven – The CV 28 f3.5 is a great favourite of Sean Reid when using M digital M10/M10-R etc.. It is tiny and does not intrude in viewfinder framing –––– which is important to many of us. For me, it was fabulous on the M8 and it's slightly lower contrast can be very nice for digital, however; It's resolution decrease off-centre was not so enjoyable for my work with M10-series. [This lens really would enjoy being revived in M mount with improved off-centre performance. I'd be first in line for a small, slow, optimal performance 28 Colour Skopar, especially if it was of Apo Lanthar standard].

I have two. One was sent to Kramer’s service in Netherlands for clean. Came bac nice but over time things are going a little south.

Stopped using. Raid you give hope now.

I am using this lens quite a lot, and I do not see any real issues with having white spots.

Chris i didn't see that at all in my 2 examples used on film Leicas.

Update: I went with the Konica, since the Zeiss got snatched up before I could. Should be coming in today - thanks for all the help, everyone!

You are into Ms, but I use a Leica iib I bought this year. I have two 50s.

My next purchase will be a 28. I've looked into it online a fair bit, and have decided I will probably go for one of the older Voigtlander Ultron 28/1.9 as they seem to be reasonably priced and from the images I've seen, I like what they do with light, mid tones and contrast.

I'm told this lens was also available in M-mount. Or with an LTM-M adapter.

Here in Australia, my problem of course will be that while the lens isn't super expensive (A$500-A$750 secondhand, no longer available new), the 28 viewfinder will cost a small mint. But such is life in 2021...

The lens arrived today, but there is some haze inside of it.

Does anyone know of a place that'll CLA Konica M-Hexanon lenses for a reasonable price? Or am I better off trying to return it...

Already asked YYe, and he said no.

Without knowing what you paid for it, I would consider sending it back and chasing down the biogon or one of the excellent voigtlander 28 ultrons. It will take you much longer to get the lens repaired than it will to return it and order a new one.
