Raid the CV color skopar 28mm is currently advertised on 'the site' from $700 USD (lens only) to a whopping $1250 USD (with finder & box). The Avenon/Kobalux $373USD (lens only) to $850 USD (boxed, unused, with finder).
I agree on the look, but back in those times makers were just producing lenses....not trying to copy previous lens character.

The two CV i had in 2018/19 were mint and the going price at the time was $450-$500. I sold them since I'm not really a 28 user & i went back to my favourite 21/35 combo.... 35mm if i take a single camera & lens.

All prices seem to have increased over time. I got inspired by your question about my Kobalux lens, so I switched the Canon 35/1.5 ltm with the Kobalux 28/3.5 this morning. My lens looks like new, and I have the finder too. The 35/1.5 "sells for $3500" on ebay 🙂 Most likely, it is a wishful thinking asking price. I remember when I compared 25 or so lenses in the range 35mm-40mm many years ago, and I used the Canon 35/1.5. It was then labeled as a bad lens, but people on RFF who viewed my results thought otherwise of it.

You can blame videographers and filmmakers seeking a certain "look".
There was a recent Zombie movie set in Las Vegas using Canon 50/0.95 and 35/1.5 LTMs for principal photography. A few months later, a whole bunch of empty Canon LTM lens nacelles went on the auction site.

This is interesting!
So my 35/1.5 is now a Zombie Lens!

My positive experience with my ZM 35mm c-Biogon and my 50mm ZM Planar would incline me toward the ZM. I think the focusing bump is sheer genius! I find it easier to use than my tabbed Summicron. I like that they have both a conventional focusing ring, and the focus bump. I can slide my finger out along the ring until it finds the bump; or I can go ahead and focus by the ring, if I want. And the image quality leaves nothing to be desired. I do like sharpness. No wobble issues so far.

As much as I like the Biogon 28, and consider it a sharp and contrasty lens that will produce striking images, I am not sure I can recommend it. Mine was purchased brand new in 2008, and after about five or six years, began to develop barrel wobble. It is now very scuffy and dry to turn, and the internal barrel has noticeable spiraling scratches on it. My Biogon 25 has begun to develop similar issues, although my Biogon 21, Distagon 35 and Sonnar 50 are fine. Zeiss wobble is very disappointing, given how much these lenses cost. And despite being made in the same factory around the same time, all of my Voigtlander M mount lenses are perfectly smooth and solid.
