Need help remove the ASA ring on Leica M7

Hi,
I am trying to remove the ASA ring on my Leica M7 so I can replace the leather which I get from cameraleather. Usually I will try by anything but this is a mint Leica M7 so I don't want to take risk 😛.

Please help me with detail step by step so I can feel confident to do it.

On cameraleather they wrote: On the M7 the back piece should be pressed very flat around the ASA ring, to allow free movement of the dial.
Could anyone please tell me more detail what I should do? There is plastic ring to set exp outside and the inner circle place to select iso. I don't know which part I should press or I misunderstand it?

Its not mint anymore. Good luck.....I would not suggest removing ASA dial. Replacing camera "leather" doesn't require dismantling camera..

I replaced the covering on an M7 and did not need to remove the ASA dial.

I had replaced the original covering of my M7 with cameraleather`s griptack and there is nothing to remove at the camera for this procedure. Just consider to apply the new covering using the "wet-method" described on cameraleather`s website, it makes things much simpler !

Hi,
Could you please tell me more detail? I don't to remove the dial but the dial has the size larger the size of the hole of the bottom vulcanite does't it? If you don't have to take the dial out please guide me how to take the vulcanite out and how I should put the leather back.

The M7 has no vulcanite, just some cheap plastic covering that you can just peel off. The hole in the original M7 covering is as large as the ASA dial so no need to take anything of the camera. Same for the replacement covering from camera leather.

The edges of the covering are just sort of tucked under the ASA dial. You can rip the stuff right off. The cameraleather covering will stretch right around it. Just use the wet method with some isopropyl alcohol, and you'll have a few minutes to get it all placed right.

Hi,
I finished the first part is removing the covering at the back. But more than my expect is the exp scale label on the right side of the dial also taken off too 🙁. Could you please tell me what kind of glue I can use to glue it back? I figured out that the original glue is not really good to keep it on, it may be the same type of glue to stick the cover. Where can I find that glue?
