Obviously the folks on this forum know something about scanning negatives.
My only experience has been with a Nikon Coolscan IV which I had access to a year ago. It did a very nice job, albeit (but tolerably) slowly, dust was always an issue.
The objective is to shoot film, process negatives myself and then work in a digital darkroom environment for minor adjustments, cropping, printing, etc. The film processing part is old hat. The scanning part is not.
Two questions:
Is this a reasonable objective
What scanner would you suggest for 35m film & slide. I suppose the Nikon Coolscan V is the closest to what I know but it is pricey. Any suggestions?
Thanks again in advance
John
