Need Info From Jason Schneider Book

Hello, I would like to pick up one of the Camera Collecting By Jason Schneider books, one wherein he describes the Voigtlander Vito B series and the late model Z-I Contessas. Can someone recommend me the correct volume? Thank you.

I’ve just joined RFF, so my reply is years late!
None of my three JS books cover these cameras together. Perhaps you’re thinking of Ivor Matanle “Collecting and Using Classic Cameras”
It covers both lines briefly.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the reply! I’ve since picked up all three of Jason’s books. Will look into Ivor Matanle.

Matanle thinks very highly of the Vito B -- "a true classic...Its performance stands comparison with current [as of 1986] cameras."

He doesn't mention the Contessamats, though the Contessa LKE, a little earlier than the the Contessamats, he says is "capable of first-class results" (I agree). His take on the rigid Zeiss Ikons of the 60s is that they're not built up to the standard of, say, the earlier folding Contessas but get the job done.

I got a Contessamat (base model, no RF, triplet Color-Pantar lens; dead meter) recently that had been sitting out for a long time. Front lens surface coating has suffered damage but I'm hopeful it can do OK. It says something of its construction that it still works.
