Need info on Storing Lenses

Hi there...need a little help here.

My oldest lenses are Jupiter lenses from the 50s (I think) and I have the 75 lux first version (Canada). I don't have any idea if these are prone to fungus. I assume that newer Leica lenses (from the 1970s - up) are not prone to fungus. I live in Colorado where it's not quite humid. I keep my lenses in dry boxes or tupper ware and store them in a closet. I need to free up some space in the closet and was wondering if I can store my lenses in an unfinished basement where it's much colder than room temperature.

Use the search feature of the Forum. In the last 1-2 months someone gave an excellent explanation of why lenses thrive on fresh air and sunlight. I'll give you a hint: mushrooms are fungae and they will grow in your basement. A shelf in your home with lots of fresh air circulation and sunlight will keep your lenses in good shape.
