Took very few non-phone photos this year, am hoping to take some nice ones in 2016. Am currently using an EPL1 with some prime (40/1.8 Hexanon) now, but rarely carry it.

The phone works OK for memories, and is usually with me. The camera will be to take some nice photos that I want enlarged to 8x10 or 11x14. I still won't carry it around all the time.

Perhaps just a new lens, the 20mm f1.7 pancake would let me carry that around more, the 25mm 1.7 is cheap.

The fuji Xpro and xe1, especially used look nice.

Bonus points if the camera matches my aqua fixie 🙂

I would recommend the fuji x100.
It's so natural in use and small in stature.

Get yourself an eye/fi card. Once set up the images arrive on your phone/tablet just like you took them there originally.
I've set mine to transfer the smallest lightweight jpeg to the phone and save an RAW on the card.
This way transfer to phone/pad is instant for web and wmail sharing leave the larger clunky RAW on the card.
If I want to print, I have the full size Raw to transfer to my computer later on.

The eye-fi card works better than any built in wifi and camera app.
The 12mp Bayer X100c is especially fast to transfer. The smallish 3mp 2176x1448 files give plenty of resolution for screen viewing yet, are just not much larger than the size of an iPhone photo from the latest iPhone6 models.

Best!

Andy, any idea if something like that would work in a M8? I remember there being extensive discussion on FujiXForum about compatibility with the OG X100.

Ill add a reccomendation as well,

I purchased, for my moms, a Canon S95 with nice little leather full case. The camera is super intuitive and easy to get on with. The front control dial around the lens is really conveniant. Its tiny and light but has a very reassuring feel of quality! Who would have thought? Not to mention it takes very nice photos.

The whole setup looks asthetically great! Performs excellently! And best of all I only paid around 120$ including camera, new charger, full case, and a set of small capacity Sandisk cards.

Mom is slaying family photos right and left now!

Hi Dev

I did test it out... The M8 works ok with the eye-fi but you have to keep the phone/device close by.
The metal bottom plate seems to interfere as well,
Others may have tricks as well.

I use one with all my cameras including the 5Dii with a CF-SD adapter.
The trick to speedy and seamless transfer is to set the card to direct mode jpeg transfer only and, choose the smallest jpeg version the camera will produce.
Leave the RAW's on the card.

Thanks, I still have a bunch of lenses, so I want a body that takes other lens (w/adapters). Nikon F, Konica Hexanons, Leica M/LTM mount.

Fuji X-E2 (or at tight budget, the X-E1). Excellent cam, great sensor, short register distance. Highly recommendable!

XE-1 is absolutely cheap and I'm positive no one will have a gripe with that recommendation. Same sensor as the Xpro, which ive used, stellar colors!

+1 for the XE-1
