I recently acquired a Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 Pancake II lens in Leica M mount. It's the new one that works with the LH-4 vented bayonet hood.

Up until now, I have been shooting color with it and it's a fine performer. However this year I'm starting to shoot more traditional black and white landscapes.

I'd like to put a yellow or orange filter on it tp punch up the skies and get the contrast right. It takes a standard 39mm threaded filter, but the problem I'm running into is once I've screwed the filter in, there isn't enough clearance for the bayonet hood. So I can't use a filter and the hood at the same time.

Anyone have any suggestions as to a filter brand that would work with this lens and hood combo? I think B&W makes a "slim" line of filters but nothing in a 39mm. The smallest size is 49mm. I use an old Walz yellow 39mm filter which works great on my CV 25mm. The hood fits fine over that lens with the filter screwed in.

Do you know for a fact that the Hoya filters will fit the Pancake II with the lens hood on?

Thanks for your help, guys.

I bought a 39mm B+W medium yellow and it fits just fine and dandy!
