My Contax lla arrived today, in the middle of a brutal snowstorm...what a marvellous piece of craftsmanship! I would be grateful if someone could tell me how to operate the frame counter and set the ASA/film type dials properly. I did find an original manual online, but the print is so tiny I can't read it.
And, it's the only thing I can't find on Mike E's wonderful site!
I am so glad I took the plunge and spent my hard-earned $$ on this camera, and I can't wait to post my shooting experiences with it.
Thank you for all your help, here; it's invaluable.

The frame counter is manually set , and is moved to zero by using a fingernail to rotate the inside dial on the wind knob. You use the red line next to the "0" marking as the reference point. Set it to zero after loading fim and advancing the winder two times.

With regard to the film type, and speed, it too is just a reminder, and is indexed to the arrow etched on the rewind knob. It is rotated using a fingernail on one of the three small raised areas on the interior of the rewind knob. Take your pick of either film type or speed- you can only use it as a reminder for one or the other.

Enjoy the camera!

Thanks, guys! I'm good to go. Probably blew a couple of frames fiddling around, but it's old film I had in the freezer...I'm so glad I'm not a nail biter!

The camera is rather self explainatory otherwise. I've got an extra legible reprint of the manual if you want it. PM me if interested. Have fun with the IIa.
