Need to lube my SOOPD!

A couple of the doors on my my Summitar barndoor hood (SOOPD) are a bit sticky and need to be manually extended. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to lubricate the springs? (I think that's what needs to be lubricated).

I was thinking of some light hobby/watch oil and applying a tiny drop with one of those syringe/needle applicators. I was also thinking of graphite powder as I don't know if the oil might attack the finish or matte coating inside the hood.

Any tips would be appreciated!

I'd be really careful about using graphite powder. It tends to smear everywhere and is very difficult to remove.
I think sewing machine oil might be the go.

I've used PTFE spray with much success. It has excellent lubricating properies at low and high temperatures and it is water repellent.
