My GS645 has, over decades, developed the widely acknowledged bellows failure. I have messaged “Camera Bellows UK” but I am curious to know from forum members if they have experience with this company, bellow costs involved — and most of all, any USA repair shops that might be proven competent in bellows replacement.

Thanks — Mel Snyder

Hi, I can say that their bellows are top quality. In one form or another they have been iin business for a century or more and at various times they have manufactured for most of the big names. I bought from them a few times in the past.

Sandeha Lynch also makes excellent bellows and I have used these too.

I have also seen Chinese bellows for this camera on eBay I think but can’t say anything about them as I havent tried them.

Good luck!

Do you mean Custom Bellows UK (Custom Bellows). If so I had a set of bellows for a Linhof Technikardan from the, faultless excellent product and service.

I cannot find a reference to Camera bellows UK !!

I know a bit about Isolette bellows failure (basically they almost all fail except Super Isolettes and ones that have already been replaced but the buyers don’t realise); but not much about the failure modes of this camera’s bellows. However I have noticed recently the availability of Bellows Repair Tape on eBay. I have never used it but maybe it is an option.

I previously tried most repair methods and decided replacement was best, but these products look promising. However my experience is that tape repairs work best when you can get the bellows out and stretch them; but if you do that you may as well replace them.
