I like the wings but that photo is not abstract in the same way as the others. As a suggestion have you tried a little simplification by getting closer and reducing the number of elements? Sometimes less is more.

Abstract work does take time to digest as with any work. At first those wings to me don't belong with this set of images at all... Put them in your back pocket for some thing else.. Work the lighting more, work angles more to create more dynamic images.. See a lot of density which is Ok.. Think about what's in the middle of the frame just as much as what's at the edge of the frame.. Start to create relationships with elements within the frame.. Which leads to more dynamic and interesting images.. That's it for now..

It''s difficult to get closer with a rangefunder, but like I said, I'm looking to get the macro elmar 90mm. 🙂

Of course I know the wings photo is very different from the others but I would leave it as first photo, something that hit you somehow and push you to develop the "less realistic" series. Or as last photo...but this is just my thinking, a impulsive visual reaction I had ...

Dear Jockos,
I am not finding pictures interesting or un-interesting, and I really not worried to much about common opinion, for several reasons.
What I find encouraging is that you are pushing your own theme, and that's the right thing to do. It’s the only thing to do really.
To judge individual pictures in a series, or to judge an image on a merit of “not sharp”, “badly composed”, “Tonality is bad” or any other technical issues at this day and age only means, imo, to be not one, but two steps behind in understanding of modern art processes. The times of a picture as its own thing are long gone. It’s a different topic, really.
I don’t believe that opinions that you will collect on forums of random people, let alone the technical forum of camera enthusiasts, really have any merit TO YOU AS ARTIST.

How can a series exist, if images are not first judged individually? Or are your series, by default, simply every single frame you shoot on a theme? Are you applying the qualifications following "or" to your entire sentence? One might reasonably also interpret your comment as two separate ways of judging images (individually, or '...on a merit of “not sharp”...' etc.).
