i have some rolls of film, neopan 400@800. the material on them is important, so I cant experiment. I have a 1+9 dilluted TMAX dev.

which I usually trust offers very long times, seems unlikely. I usually develop trix 10.5 in 1+9 @20c and like the results.
any advice?

Not easy question, but this maybe helps:

or

Maybe you will figure out something.

Nowhere anything solid. If that film is important why don't you go with something you are sure about ?

Maybe shoot a separate roll of film also at 800 and develop that first to check?

and cut the test/dummy rolls in half, so you can make adjustments on the second half. After two development sessions you should be darned close on the important rolls.
I can tell you now tho that Neopan 400 won't make 800, so you can expect a loss of shadows and denser highlights.
I personally find the semi-stand technique works well, depending on subject matter, and really does give more speed. I can get up to about 500/640 real speed out of this fiml but no more. That's with Xtol 1+2.
