I have a particular soft spot for Neopan 400 CN - after trying many different B&W films, I keep coming back to this one. However, being rated at an ISO of 400 it can be a little bit limited when shooting in the summer and when travelling abroad to more southerly countries when the intensity of the light is so much stronger.

Anyway, my question is, does anyone shoot this film rated at ISO 100?

I think it is the same film as Ilford XP2 (actually made by Ilford for Fuji) and if so it can be rated at 100-1600 with obvious shadow detail caveats at EI 800-1600.

I have rated XP2 at 100 quite a few times and it seems to work well.
That said if you want a film that you can change contrast and match to scene brightness conventional B&W and subsequent development will yield more controlled results.

Yes, I've heard that Neopan 400 CN is actually made by Ilford, but to a slightly different formula to XP2?

From what I've read about XP2, you can expose either +2 or -2 stops and not have to alter development times - almost 'digital' film!

There is only one way to find out - I'm going to have to load up one of my cameras this weekend and test for myself...! 🙂

Results to follow.......😀
