Hi guys,

I have been using the new 50/2.8 Elmar lens quite often recently. It's a very good lens, light and sharp. It's a compact combination with M6 when the lens retracted into the body.

I also use it on M8 but never tried to collapse the lens into M8 body. I am not sure if that would cause any damage to the body. I don't have the courage to experiment it on M8. I also plan to use it on R-D1 and CLE bodies. Can the lens be retracted on M8, R-D1 and CLE bodies? Any idea?

Thanks.

Hey

I use the lens an M6TTL and obviously it's fine on that, but from what I recall there was some confusion about its use on the M8 that was cleared up saying that it's okay to use after all. The Voigtlander and CL cameras are a no-go without some dymo tape or a hair band to stop it collapsing fully - it contacts the shutter in the voigt and can break the meter arm in the CL. If the situation has changed I'm sure I'll be corrected 🙂
