I haven't had a chance to see and hold a copy of this book, but it sounds interesting. At first, I thought "they are obviously running out of ideas" but after further consideration, I am intrigued by the subject matter.

I was pleasantly surprised at the price, given that it's a Leica book; there's no $100+ price tag. What a refreshing turn of events! 😀

Take a look and share your thoughts:

I was lucky enough to get a free copy of the book and get a photo and a quote on it! 😀

It's an awesome idea by Leica, and the book is really well made and printed

So -- a bunch of Leica users taking pictures of themselves with their Leicas?

Yup. It's a "self portrait" book with Leica owners as its theme. Selfies can be a lot of fun, mixing it up with owners of Leicas and their cameras should be nice.

Like with any photo book, you have to like the kind of material that's being portrayed to be interested.

The book came about from this flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/jubileebookproject/

Not only was my photo a selfie, it was shot using my bathroom mirror! I happened to have the best light and a nice white background. At least I wasn't shirtless, for which there was much rejoicing. It was going to be the best 36 shots, but they ended up using all of them, some with their own page, others were just smaller images collected on a single page (I can't remember, maybe a dozen per page?). Anyway, I got a free copy of the book shipped to me, which was nice.

At least I can claim that my work has been published! 😉

Hi,

So going through RFF and looking at our little pictures/avatars is a free version of it? I guess our competition is what keeps the price below £100...
