I have been using my grandpa's Canon IIF that he bought in Tokyo in 1954, and when I went to visit him last weekend, he gave me a bunch of accessories that he had found for it. I now have a set of Walz 50mm filters and lens shade in a leather case, a Canon Camera Holder and case, and a Canon Rapid Winder. The winder is really nice to use. I can really blow through film with this camera now 🙂 I don't really know what to use the camera holder for. I've seen a couple on eBay, and the seem to be going for $15. Is this because no one else knows what to do with them either, or are they really only worth that much?

Generous grandpa! Some time ago, someone here posted a pdf version of an old Canon manual: "CANON CAMERA HOLDER: The Canon Camera Holder is an ideal accessory for close-up, telephoto and long exposure shots. It is designed to hold the camera sturdy in a balanced position when using a tripod. The camera can be easily seated either vertically or horizontally. The spirit level assures accurate composition of subject." Next to the text is a picture of the camera, with the heavy 85/1.9, mounted on a tripod. The 'holder' allows the tripod to be mounted under the lens without having a tripod mount on the lens itself.
