Canon LTM New Canon Rangefinder Type Found, The RS200

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Ya know, something like that is just out and out fraud! :(

And people wonder why I don't use ebay very much ...

It almost looks like an Akira with a badly glued Canon logo...or one of those other trashcams that have things like "Optical Lens" printed on the barrel. Just to distinguish them from all those Aural Lenses out there, I suppose.

Definitely not a camera I'd take to the beach. I'd be careful not to leave it in the sun too long.!

I'm curious as to what the heck it even *is*.

It's one of those incredibly cheap junk cameras with the Canon logo glued on.

Kinda like sticking a Kate Spade or Dooney and Bourke "DB" logo on a $5 el-cheapo handbag and trying to pass it off as the real thing.

I'm curious as to whether the seller is a real wannabe con artist (c'mon, you can do better than that) or just incredibly naive WRT photo equipment.

I would think that this would violate some Ebay regulation for trademark fraud.

Pretty sad attempt at fraud. Reminds me of one of those cheap focus-free cameras that Time magazine gave away with a magazine subscription in the late 1970s . The Canon logo, as much as one can discern from the fuzzy photo, looks like it was cut from a magazine add and affixed with a piece of tape.

I have seen a few news stories lately about several parties suing eBay, claiming that the large numbers of sellers offering fake merchandise has harmed their ability to get reasonable prices on genuine goods. The stories that I saw (maybe even posted here) were about jewelry sellers, but apparently Tiffany & Co. has also joined the complainants.

This auction also reminds me of a common appearance on eBay of an obviously fake super-duper deluxe Canon camera with a huge bulky flash permanently attached to one side, and advertised by the sellers variously as focus-free or auto-focus. Attached link:

When I see items like this offered with a blurry pic, I usually consider it as an attempt at outright fraud.

Hey, I have just found out about an undiscovered type of Canon Rangefinder. It's called the RS200 and there is one for sale on the bay. :p Not sure about the high shipping charges though.

that guy is a full on thief.

look at his other auctions, real cameras including a couple canon QL 17 GIIIs at a very good price [for him] so he KNOWS that it is a plastic POS and what real cameras look like
