New CineStill 120 Indiegogo Campaign

The original goal of $120,000 was for 800T only.

They have announced stretch goals of $150,000 to produce 4X5 800T sheet film and, if they reach $190,000 they would produce 50D + allow earlier contributors to choose the mix of 880T and 50D they desired.

Krötenblender; I think what Texsport means is that the US$98,512 they have currently raised is 82% of the US$120k original target (offering 800T in 120 size), 66% of the stretched target of US$150k, at which point they will offer 800T in 120 and 4x5 sizes, and 52% of the 'super-stretch' of US$190k at which point they will also offer 50D. Apologies if this is already obvious.
Interesting to see what the final 'surprise' is going to be. I don't think Kodak makes bwXX in 65mm sizes, so special order or something else?

I wish they (or somebody else) would offer ECN-2 developer in manageable quantities for home users. And film with remjet still on. ECN-2 developer and untouched Vision films cut to different sizes - THAT would be great.

The 800T 120 film goal is within $7,500 of reaching it's goal - with 11 days to go.

The 4X5 and 50D 120 projects are longer shots.

The ECN-2 developer is pretty easy to mix up.
Kodak publish the formula online, just search for the ECN-2
specifications PDF.

There is also a Russian Eb@yer selling powder kits.

The film is quite easy to buy ib the UK.

Thanks for that! I'm definitely going to try it.

CineStill doesn't work for me at all in situations where I'd like to shoot hi-speed tungsten film.

Why you don't like Cinesill ? ( apart from price ! )

Drop me a PM if you want a couple of rolls of Vision III, I have
most speeds.

CineStill 800T now funded for 120 and 4X5 film!

Only today left for contributions - looks like they'll fall short of the stretch goal of 50D in 120.

I pledged for the 5 roll 120 propack, pretty much waited to the last minute. 4x5 would be cool, I hope they are able to work it all out.

I'd assume this funding is for the retooling of machines for 120, and that by doing that, 50d wont be that far behind, as they will just have to run different films through the whole process.

Yes, the idea is that this campaign gets them to the stage where they can offer films commercially, from 2017. Pledging in this campaign a) gets you some, b) gets you it sooner.

11th hour update!

The organization marketing the CineStill project, Indiegogo, has extended the fund raising deadline 14 days in an effort to raise another $35K for CineStill 50D film in 120.

CineStill 50D is the finest grain color film available on the planet.

Happily, this now virtually guarantees both 50D and 800T films for medium format analog fans - 50D broadening the gap between digital and MF film.

Can't wait to get this stuff in my MF cameras!

Yeah, I might pledge for a pack of 4x5. 800 speed film in 4x5 is pretty nice. I've never used this in 35, so the 120 should be cool.

50iso film would be wonderful, too.

Sorry, but that is a marketing lie:
I've compared 50D and Provia 100F in 100x enlargements, and 50D is not finer grained than Provia 100F.
And Provia offers the better resolution and sharpness.

Bouncing this thread... today my first batch arrived; ten rolls of 800T in 120 from what Cinestill call their Alpha roll. Yah! Anybody else shot and developed theirs yet?

Yes. Halos are now 1,5cm instead of 0,5cm as in 135 negative ;)
