I'm afraid I don't have any pictures to show you just yet, but will try and get some shots pretty soon. And I'll put them in here.

Mostly, I want to highly recommend http://www.cameraleather.com/
I ordered the R2's new clothes from there (Griptac leatherette). I forgot to mention which camera I wanted it for (sent a separate e-mail) and then picked the wrong price (a few $$ out) :bang: I may work at Cambridge, but I for one am convinced I don't belong here 😀
Through all of this I e-mailed with Morgan, who works there (owns it?). He was most courteous and helpful.

Once I got the new clothes, one of them was slightly short, maybe by a millimetre or two. I e-mailed Morgan, mainly to suggest for future buyers he might want to make it slightly longer. Lo and behold, he sends me the new bit at no added cost! It's arrived today and will go on tonight!

So again, I heartily recommend dealing with Cameraleather. If I had any other cameras that needed new clothes, I'd get them there.

P.S. Oh and it looks looooovely, I can tell you! My old bits of rubber were falling off and looked horrid. It's now better than it was before. The "bump" at the back is gone but it hold as good if not better than before.

some pictures

I've finally managed to get some pictures of my newly dressed olive R2. They're not very good but I hope will show that it's a handsome little beast now!

The new clothes are "Griptac" from Cameraleather. I've no commercial interests in them, but have been very pleased with their help and service. One of the initial 'bits' was a tad short and with no questions asked, a newer, longer piece was sent. Highly recommended!

Morgan is a wonderful person to talk to, very responsive and intelligent in regards to re-leathering cameras. I have a couple of cameras that I do wish to re-leather soon (as soon as my big scholarship comes in) and cant wait! tht cobalt blue will look rather nice on my FG. and in the mean time, I have ordered from Aki, some red wine snake skin for my whore.

I also have recently recovered my green R2 with the Griptac cover, its excellent, fits well, and I don't miss the bump on the back one little bit.
The Griptac gives an excellent feel to the camera. I looked at some of the coloured leathers, but with a green camera, black looks by far the best. Can you imagine it with the coral pink leather😛 I feel sick!!
P.S. if you choose Griptac be sure to follow Morgans instructions about the temperature of the camera and its surroundings i.e. 60 F + this makes it easier to fit and stick on the sharp corners.
