New in my Leica family, I mean.

A little bit ago I received an e-mail indicating that my "new" old lens, a Summicron 90/2, is on its way. It's a cosmetically challenged M-mount lens, black, identical to the one Todd had a while back, when he had an M6.

Just wanted to share the news with you, guys!

Now, let's celebrate! :D

I'll bet you're grinning, Francisco! Congrats... It'll be fun thinking how you'll first put it to use...

Well... the eagle has landed... and it has a very distinctive feel! That is, now I'm a real grown-up and got three M-lenses!

Let's see how I manage... it's snowing outside, but I'll see to go and test-drive this baby later today.

Just hopping... and I'm not that caffeinated! :)

You'll really like that lens, I did, looking forward to some pics!

Oscar, I'm glad to report this lens has a built-in hood... that took me by surprise (I didn't know it).

Todd... what kind of filters does this lens use? If I take it to Chicago on a windy day (which happens often) I may be in need of something.

Now... let's look for targets, I mean subjects! :)

I forget the size but I got one for the "interior" threads, maybe 43 or 46mm, I didn't like the way it fit though, with the filter and cap on the hood wouldn't collapse all the way. I would put the filter on as I needed it. Great lens and very, very sharp!

BTW, if you carry your camera around the neck, you'll want a padded strap cause this lens is heavy.

Thanks, Todd. I have a small collection of 46 and 48 filters. If they don't fit... I'll survive until my next visit to Chicago.

Almost finished a roll... but won't be able to see the results until (gasp!) Tuesday next week. Until then, it's all fun and games, though (time to dust off a cheap roll and have it done in the grocery store afterwards).
