New found skills for posting and some pics

i use flickr and have no problems posting pics. they even give you the url to use.

i read somewhere that pbase does not allow you to post images elsewhere and link to them? that could be why it works sometimes but not always? maybe every now and then the server doesnt catch the request?

That may be, but here is the weirdness: When I quote your message in order to reply, then go back to the thread (without sending the message) the pics reappear. ???

I also use Flickr. They make it very easy to link to your image, even offering up links to different sized images.

I see them once I copy the URL for the image into my browser and view it directly. Then they start showing up on the page. I wonder if pbase has some anti-hotlinking thing in place.

I've been in touch with pbase and they confirm that posting the source code is unreliable because it accesses their server and that images can move around from server to server. That explains the problem. Based on their suggestion, here is another try. If this shows up it will be because the jpg suffix was left out of the original attempt. Someone had, in fact, made that suggestion, and I seemed to have ignored it. Here goes.
