Might be kind of fun, supposedly it will have integrated filters. Hopefully it's under $100.

Hard to beat the XF27mm f/2.8 when it was on sale for around $150 though.

They seem to have covered most, if not all of the bases for their really nice offerings, so it's nice to see Fuji bring in some lower cost options/fun lenses. I still would like to see a 35mm equivalent at f/2ish to f/2.5 as an affordable, smaller bodied option to their XF23mm f/1.4.

Got to agree about the 23mm - a smaller f2 lens would be great. Can't really see the point of the 24/f8.

It's a lomography lens. With preinstalled cross, soft and other kitsch filters, lightweight, an idiotproof f/8.
I see their market...

This is not intended to fit in the "FX lens lineup".
It's for the Lomo/Holga/Diana/Pinhole niche.

There are $15 Canon EF-mount 60mm f/8 "Holga" lenses on eBay; buy a cheap EF -> X Mount $20 adapter and call it a day?

I suppose this still has value for some people, and yeah it looks fun, especially if it's got that tiny pancake form factor! It just better be cheap, otherwise for the money I would imagine people would start finding their own "fun"...if it's priced in the $200+ range, I'd be considering a nice FD/AI-S lens, adapter, and fun filters for the same money instead.

Ummm, f/8 at 3m has about 6.5' > Inf in focus., great street DoF Zone.
I wander if it has a few DoF detent stops for different DoF Zones.
Similar to the Oly 15mm f/8 Body Cap lens with 3 DoF detents.

Even the CV 24/2.4 Snapshot had a few DoF Zones detents.

I'll get it, though I don't expect super sharp, but, more than adequate sharpness.

I wonder if it is a triplet design? There is a soft and cross filter built in. I don't c a way to focus it to preset like the m43 lens cap.

The X-A1 . . . turn the dial top to "ADV" and pick a filter (one is "toy camera", one is "soft" and there are a few others). I just found that in the manual.

Maybe I just saved you (and me) $100 ??? 😀

The Japanese site says (in addition to the fact that it doesn't have a rear cap) that it is fixed-focus, no information transmitted to the body.

For those of you who've kept pace with the m-4/3 world, this is similar to the Olympus 15mm-f/8 body cap lens. Perhaps not a "serious" lens, but with a bit of field curvature and CA correction applied to the raw files in post, surprisingly good. The Oly version has a detent for the hyperfocal distance, meaning it's a great street lens.

I quite like the Olympus 'body cap' lens. Great for street photography in good light. I'm going to take a closer look at the Fuji version.
