This from Fuji's US web site:

"[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Medium-Format Film Camera
In a special exhibit, Fujifilm will feature a prototype of a new portable medium-format film camera. Even as the company innovates in digital imaging technology, Fujifilm remains true to its heritage and to the acknowledged superior image quality delivered by professional photographic film products. Fujifilm is committed to further expanding the world of imaging whether in digital or analog technologies."

Has anyone seen it? Please report in! 😱

I read the rumor, and it was in enough respectable locations that I felt it was a true one - even if surprising. I am very interested in seeing this creature, although I am probably not a potential customer - I'm full up with medium format cameras, including rangefinders. I still want to see it, though.

Well this was on the Fuji USA web site, so it's a confirmed rumor. I'm really anxious to hear from any visitors to PMA about it. I am not in the market for a new MF film camera, either, but one can't help but be fascinated by this development.

If the camera was non-portable it would be more newsworthy. "Fuji Unveils World's First Stationary MF Camera. Comes With Its Own Concrete Rangefinder Base."

I've always kind of considered the Mamiya RB67 to be more-or-less non-portable. I'm a big guy - but I would not want to carry one around very long - let alone extra lenses/accessories.

And the Fuji GX680 was not much better, was it? I think they even touted that one as a 'studio' camera.

Fuji has covered a lot of medium format ground. It's hard to predict what they could be up to.

A folder with approx 35-40mm equivalent lens at f2.8, coupled rangefinder and meter would do very nicely...at least they'd sell one to me.

Yes - in 6x9. Oh, yeah.

As long as Fuji makes film, Fuji will continue to market film cameras.

Perhaps the design hasn't been finalized yet.
An item ready for market should have a photo, description and specifications.
