When I try to upload photos, even though I reduce scanning to 300 dpi, no dice.

What am I doing wrong?

max file size is 4k 4096bytes. no more than 1100 pixels wide. If its bigger I have disabled the reduce file size to save disk space.

Hi Jorge, I meant on the old gallery home page - there was the most recent photo section as well as a random selection of photos below that.

P.S. just noticed a minor bug - I recently uploaded some pics, and manually entered the camera name - howver, what appears in the camera name field is "FUJI PHOTO FILM CO., LTD. - SLP1000SE"
i.e. this was pulled out of the EXIF data of the scanned jpg.

Ted, I've found that when I scan my negs/slides (usually at 2400 dpi or better), I'm best served by quickly saving as a .psd (Photoshop) file, then once I've finished all the editing I want to do, I save it again, resize to 800x600 (or roughly thereabouts, keeping the proportions the same as the original), then I do a "save as" to a JPEG file. I've had much better results both with image quality and uploading manageable images that way; in fact, I should probably do that with my Florida photos... the scans I have up right now really don't do the slides justice... bah, a project for another night.

Jorge, could you clarify the max file size? You said 4k, which is 4096 bytes... and that is such a miniscule size I can't believe it.

Also, I now see apparent duplicates in my Gallery... Are there actually multiple copies, or is it multiple displays of one copy? I'm concerned that removing one copy might remove all...

New gallery looks good - unfortunately all my posts seem to have disapeared - have they gone for ever or just a temporary thing?

I see that clicking on the old URL's to the original gallery folders still works. I had a lot of posts making references to photo's sorted by lens type. Will the original gallery structure be maintained, or will the URL's become 404's?
