New "Harman Titan Pinhole Camera"

Now I'm personally not very keen on pinhole photography but it does seem to me like this camera would lend itself very well to a DIY Alpa style 4x5 camera. I mean take out the pinhole lens, mount a lens of the appropriate focal length with a shutter and a focusing helical and you're set. Or, since the focal length is quite short anyways, lose the helical and make it a fixed focus P&S.

I wonder if the construction is rigid or flexible. If flexible silicone perhaps the view angle can be adjusted by not fully erecting the "bellows" just like one can with these silicone measuring cups.
Would be nice to have a pinhole that can be exchanged like the ones from Skink Photo.

I still have a polaroid 545 back lying around. So, this could be a nice camera to use it with.

It's mould-injected ABS plastic so it's rigid. It's made by Walker Cameras so I suspect it's the same material as all Walker cameras. I've never seen a Walker camera in person but they are highly regarded. I think the front cone including pinhole lens is interchangeable for possible future focal lengths.

I think you'll have a hard time trying to find film for it. Or would you use it for positive paper?





In any case, I'm not personally interested in this device as I have a perfectly fine 4x5 field camera but every now and then I see people doing DIY projects and most of the time they're spending much more than £150 on parts and labour just for getting a proper back and lens cone. This pinhole camera seems like it could be a nice starting point for a conversion and if they start making multiple cones one could even have various lens options. A poor man's Alpa if you will.

Not really into pinhole, but this is pretty cool, I hope it's the first in a line of cameras from Harman. Something similar with a lens could be enough to tempt me into LF.

looks cool. Interesting that they would use "PINHOLE camera" and "Harmon TECHNOLOGY" in the same sentence ....... er, "pinhole technology". Love how these old school niche products are still being produced.
