well hello all, im new to these forums i have spent the last couple of days going through the pages of the forums, being new to rangefinders, i was wanting to try a yashica, i first started off wanting to buy a lomo, i know i know, well i decided on a olympus xa2 and well that little guy just isnt making it for me its fun for little snap shots and all, but i want something more, and well i was looking at different cameras on lomo and i came upon the yashica's and i loved the pics they had and went searching around the net and came upon this site, and it was exactly what i was looking for.

so now im in the market for a yashika, i liked the models they had there on the site and knowing lomo rapes you on prices im trying to look at a other option...so what do you all think? any suggestions if you could help me out i sure would appreciate it...thanx....😀

I would look at the Yashica GS. GSN, GT, or GTN models. They are for practical purposes the same for real world shooting. The GT and GTN are black bodied GS and GSN respectfully. I would think you could get a good example for less tha $50. I may know some one who would sell you one for less than $50.00 (Hint, Hint).

Other possibilities include the Canonet, Olympus SP RD RC, Konica Auto, ... plenty of great choices.

I have the Professional which is more or less a pre-G model as well as the GSN. The later series such as the GSN or GTN are probably your best shots since they are newer and have a hot shoe but older one should not be overlooked since they can usually be had a bit cheaper.

I have a GSN and recommed it as an inexpensive way to get into RF photography. They are a great camera and excellent value for money. The lens is (arguably) equal to the Nikkors I have used for years, the foussing is a breeze (the old RF folders are shockers in comparrison) and the light meter is great (it is nice to enjoy taking photos without worrying about exposures).

I think the GSN is a plesure to use and this encourages me to take more photos and surely that is what it is all about. I am only sorry I didn't discover 35 mm rangefinder photoraphy years ago.

I've never used a Yashica, but I think they look cool.

I have to second the Olympus 35 RC - nice viewfinder, very portable, sharp lens, and fun to use!

I also found another one on ebay for like 20 bucks so i snagged that one too...
im just going crazy hehehe!

all i need is a battery adapter for the one i bought on ebay. Is there a place where i can buy one or make one or something? and what kind of battery does it use? any suggestions?
