Over at Dpreview a new X100 gallery is set up with pics from their preview + Andy Westlake is answering Q's on the specific forum.

Have run through the samples, and dont mind admitting that Im *really* impressed. Holy grail? No. Street camera bar none? Yes.

Kind Regards

Looks good, though I would like to know at what setting of noise reduction these were taken. Looks a bit too strong to me - especially when comparing the banana shots. Also the very lst shot of the church interior shows low contrast detail loss at ISO 800.

I am looking forward to dpreview review once the time comes.

Overall - the camera seems to perform well.

Standard.

"Noise reduction was set to standard, it's adjustable across 5 levels (high, medium high, standard, low, medium low)"

Underwhelmed by most everything so far. Why in the hell does fuji not give this camera to a photographer? The Flikr page of Mio Cade contains the only interesting samples from this camera I have seen so far.

hehe agree :=) However the dpreview shots are AFAIK the first i full resolution, and with kontrolled pp > medium NR and otherwise zero. Just thought it would be of some interest. As for the lens the jury is still out.

Kind Regards

looks great ... appears as though the camera may tend to over-expose as the majority of the samples have Exposure compensation dialed back by 1/3 - 2/3 of a stop... I guess that is pretty much par for the course with other non dSLR digital cameras...

A bit of banding in the 6400's - ah well :=)
Hm - I haven't found any. Where did you see banding?

So far, I'm very impressed with nthe camera's high ISO performance - surprisingly little noise, and only moderate loss of resolution at high ISO. My D300 DSLR can't keep up with this performance.
