new & improved...

and more expensive ... sony seems to be doing good business selling the RX100 at 649 and believe the RX100ii is worth $100 more
this looks like a fantastic travel camera

"new and improved"

Compared to what?

I guess I've gotten too old and cantankerous but not one new camera has stirred my blood in the last few years. They just don't look like proper cameras. And if you want a one function shutter speed dial you have to pay a fortune.

not sure if this is new...but sony has a $15. grip listed under accessories!

looks good and $24 cheaper than the franiec grip!

sometimes aggravates me cuz i'm a neat freak that stuff on this forum gets split up for no good reason and there are simultaneous posts on the same thing ... maybe it's just me

OT a bit.
Does anyone make a stick on "softie" for the RX100?
I find that flush shutter button is not very practical to keep things super steady with slow shutter speeds.
Experiences?

i did see some advertised somewhere...but then read that they fall off easily...

But the feature I really like is using the ring to go to a set focal length in the zoom range. Very nice.

I agree, but I'd prefer this as a firmware update on my RX100.... I think that I might even pay a modest amount of money:eek: for a firmware update that provided this feature, but I don't want it enough to make me change my camera for the new model.

That looks very good, but it's not on the Sony UK site...:(
If things follow the usual pattern, it'll turn up in the UK (eventually) for about four times the price...:D
