Dear all, I'm new in this forum and desire to say hallo to everybody. I reqad usefull and interesting things .
I would like to introduce myself . After 50 years of photography (started when 7 and in a few days I'll be 57 !), most of them with SRL but a few years ago a bought a Bessa R to experience the Heliar 12mm . I was so surprised in how easy and light is to work with this camera that a few weeks later I bought the Ultro 35mm / 1.7 and to complete the set I add the color-heliar 75mm/2,5. This is becoming for me the more and more used camera ! I still use SRL when need long tele or have to do some specific job.
I m also interested a lot in Polaroid and in the last year I'm trying pinhole photography. Now I have a gentle question, hope not to disturb anyone.
I add three pictures in my gallery, but not so sure it has been made in the best way. I scann the neg at 2700 dpi, invert for B&W, and with PS elements I resize at 750x500 pixel, 72 dpi. Than I save as high quality Jpeg and add to gallery. I'm not sure how the picts looks on other peoples monitors and would be happy if any volunteers can give a look and just give a comment (need more contrast or more brigtness etc). Thank you all in advance, regards robert

Hi,
welcome to the forum! What kind of polaroid do you use? Do you have a website with your work? Somehow I couldn't find your pics in the gallery.

Welcome, Robert! Finally, someone older than me. 😉

Can't help you with the pics. I only posted a couple but just on threads.

Hi Robert, and welcome to the forum. 🙂

I also had difficulty finding your gallery, but eventually I found your pictures by searching in the gallery by your user name. I also use PS Elements. I find that applying just a tiny bit of sharpening helps the final result. The size you are saving to is good for viewing on my small laptop screen (thank you!). On jpeg quality, you might be able to save to a lower quality (I routinely use medium quality for uploads) for smaller file sizes. Compare the results for yourself and see if there is any readily discernable difference.

Post more!

Hey

Your workflow sounds pretty sound. Nice that you size to 750x500 for website use, although personally I size to 480x320 just in case a visitor has only got a 780 pixel wide screen. And I hate it when people post a 1800x1200!

I too couldn't locate your images.

You'll find the Voigtlander a pretty popular camera in these general forums and also in the dedicated forum a little lower down the screen.

See you around.

Robert,
Welcome! I like the images you've got in your gallery! They look very good on my screen. And the size just fits. Looking forward to seeing more.
Rob

I thank you all for welcomimg me in the forum .
Frank, age should not be a problem...unless you live on 5th floor with no lift and have to climb stairs !
Trying new way to take photo helps to feel young, at leat I like to hope so !

As fan of Polaroid I user an old 340 (originally from my father), I can borrow for long time an excellent SX-70 from a friend (he does not use it) and a 600.
Unfortunately polaroid discomtinued the 35mm Polapan B&W .

I have not yet understood well how it works about gallery, member galleries etc, hope you'll forgive me if giving any trouble ! I'll try to improve !
Thanks again and keep in toch
robert

PS I forgot to say that I believe to be one of the very few photographer which has in house more than 10 cameras (one day I'll make a list) but not yet a digital one !
Even if RD-1 is tempting a lot...

I wouldn't bet on that around here, Robert! 😀 I think I was up to about 15+ cameras before I broke down and bought a cheap digicam. And I've offered to sell it to somebody I work with so I'll likely not have one for much longer.

Welcome to the forum Robert. You will find it a friendly place. We have a member or two who live in a closet and use their house to store cameras. I have about forty and have just aquired two from Ebay at a very good price; an exceptionally clean Vito CLR which works perfectly and a grungy Agfaflex which is usable. My wife is threatening to make me live in the closet. Again welcome.

I'm lucky my wife is patient, still in love (we just got married three years ago) and she likes very much photography. So she understand my "virus". I believe life is easier when we both have similar interest...but I had to buy a new camera for her as well!
ciao

Hi Pherdinand,
I'm writing from Italy, a middle town called Busto Arsizio (which means burned twice, because if historical reasons) near Milano.
I discovered this forum a few month ago when during a business trip in Germany I spent a night relaxing in an Internet Cafè and since then I kept reading.
Plan in short time to prepare a personal web site, but short time for me means a few months ! I also have to work ! And I have a wife ! And I like walking, and...
ok, there is not so much time free...

Hi Robert, welcome to the forum!

Wow, 10 cameras as a start, most of us need two months on this forum to reach 10 cameras. ok, only kidding, it's three month to get infected with GAS 🙂
