I think you're on to something. It will need to be something easy for Kodak to produce. They're not in a position to be investing (gambling?) in truly new products. So, re-introducing TMZ is a real possibility. Double-X with square sprockets in cassettes also a possibility.
I have just one roll of Pan-X left in the freezer. I've been reluctant to pull it out. As a very slow and high-quality B+W film spending its life in cryo-suspension, I fully expect it to perform quite nicely when I finally get around to using it. The main problem: I won't have a clue how to go about developing for maximum results. I've already forgotten....heck, I forgot 10 years ago.
But back to our regularly scheduled program. I also think Tmax 3200. I would welcome that. Only 1 roll of TMZ left in the freezer too.

Ha ha! I'm sure those who say "I don't care" will be buying it anyway.

a hi speed b/w film that goes head to head with Ilford is one thing lacking in Kodak's line up and if it's TMax 3200 and can be shot at box speed, AND available in 120 as well as 35, I think it's going to be a winner. I'd load up and go to town with my Mamiya 6 and Hasselblads if this came to pass.

If the hints from Kodak are actually not intentionally misleading... it's certainly TMZ. I hoped for a color iso1600 film but that would be like a manned Mars mission for Kodak.
I'll settle for the Moon.

TMZ at 3200 had a CI of about 0.68-0.74, contrasty but manageable. I loved it, but it became hard to get here before it vanished.

I hope it returns.

Thanks. Night around the campfire, Okavango Delta. Noctilux @ 1/125 f1, TMZ at 6400 in home made TMax RS equivalent. It's possibly a bit cliched, but I couldn't resist the buffalo skull chair.
One of the darkest photo situations I've been in. At least in terms of luminance.
Amusingly, I've only ever been really excited twice by any photo product. The first was when I heard Leica were definitely making a B&W digital M. The second time was, well, now, even though I can live with Delta 3200 just fine. Fingers crossed, and please let it not be PX* for the sake of who ever has to wash Michael's pants, even if that is Michael.

* But seriously, for the record, I really loved PX.

Aside from being a great image I'm blown away by the highlight control aong with just enough detail in the shadows.

I had the (completely uninformed) idea that a 1600 colour negative film would be relatively simple for Kodak.
Yes. On the other hand, the big move would be to re-enter the reversal film market - the bulk cine volume of Kodak should make them the most competitive maker where any kind of colour material is concerned, whether negative or reversal.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
I think there was more light bleeding out into the shadows than might seem immediately apparent. The CI of the neg is about 0.85 - very high. It prints fine on grade 1 paper with some highlights burned in at grade 0 and 0.5. It scans well but needs a little massaging.
The main problem was that my M7 just couldn't meter the light, so I guessed. Sometimes it works.

Personally, I'd like to have the BW400CN C41 B&W film back but I agree that the current hints suggest TMZ is the likely announcement.

Not me. After trying the Washi S and some ORWO DP-31 and finding them a waste of time it was the P30 fiasco that finally drained me of any desire to jump on new films. I’m sticking with the tried and true from here on unless I absolutely must replace something.

i'd have plus-x over TMZ, but, i'll certainly take TMZ over nothing at all.
if kodak releases TMZ in 35 and 120, i think they'll see an incredibly positive response in terms of sales.

Well, there were many and varied opinions about TMax 3200 as well when it was produced, don't forget.
Also, it's interesting to read about the actual speed of that film, as mentioned by others:

Now, if they make an entirely new product, that would be extremely interesting.....and a high-speed option would be better the larger the format, there isn't much room to play on in 35mm compared to 120 and larger regarding grain.
