Dear All,

Just a quick message to introduce myself and say a big thanks to all as this forum has proved so useful for helping me to make the mighty decision to purchase my very own Leica - a dream come true!

I caught the bug for rangefinders after purchasing a Zorki 4k off ebay for £20...after a couple of years serious enjoyment taking photos, not to mention much saving, I gone and went and done it. A lovely new Lecia MP with 35 f.2 lens....

Few people in my circles understand the pure excitment and joy this little object has brought but reading the various threads here I'm reassured that I'm not alone!

So with that said, I look forward to contributing in the future

Regards
Paula

Welcome Paula. It goes without saying that you have excellent taste, & probably the best reassurance you could get would be the weight & feel of the MP in your hands, and the view through its finder. Good light & good shooting.

You are not alone! I am confident the excitement is there to stay.

Paula-----You'll love your new MP/35mm. I picked up a new MP and 35/2 asph late last year and both have been a joy to use. Take a look at my gallery when you get the chance. Most pics were taken with the MP.

Welcome, Paula. And don't forget to post some photos in the gallery.

Congratulations but beware, before long you will be developing your own film. Just think how much you can save for new equipment.

Congratulations! Jumping in with both feet is a bit scary (I did the same thing you did- MP, but with the 90mm AA and 35mm 'Lux ASPH).

Now, what's next to help satiate the inevitable GAS attack?

:)

From a Zorki to a Leica MP, yikes, that's a leap. Congratulations!! Welcome to a whole new world of thinking "hmm, $400 for a lens? That's cheap!!"

Yup, Gabriel, you put it nicely. It's that strange feeling of thinking that 300 bucks is too much for a Nikon AF lens, but an incredible bargain for any Leica piece.

Congratulations on your purchase, Paula, and welcome to this forum! :)

Hi Paula,
my first rangefinder camera was a Zorki 4, bought on eBay for a few euros... Still have it, still use it. Enjoy your MP.
Cheers
Vincent
